Mary Ann Hutton Christmas Sampler

Many of you probably don't know me.  I've been a member of this group for a year or so, but have never posted.  I am usually stitching smalls, but I have plans to stitch a sampler or two this year.  The Mary Ann Hutton Christmas Sampler is one of my favorite sampler designs ...
... but I'm sorry to say that I don't like the floss colors used.  I'm not good at making color substitutions, so I'm wondering if anyone has stitched this with different ... darker/more subdued ... colors, & if so, what did you use?

Happy Birthday Nicola

I didn't want this day to pass, with out wishing a special lady, a special birthday.

Where has to time gone?  I remember joining the group and placing my first post.  It was of Country Life, my newly finished Scarlet Letter.  Four samplers later, one in the stand and Eleanor Parr waiting in the wings, that where my time has gone.  Many of you have completed many more beautiful Scarlet Letter samplers, I am sure a lot of you, because of this special lady.

                                                 Happy Birthday Nicola

Elizabeth Shephard Progress

I have been stitching Elizabeth Shephard in the small sampler SAL in the Facebook group and have forgotten to post here.  I am working on her as my stitch group piece since she is so much smaller and more portable than the other pieces in my current rotation.  It keeps her fresh for me and seems like more a part of the SAL that way!

My start on Eleanor Parr

I am starting on my Eleanor Parr Sampler and am just really enjoying this beautiful sampler so much.  These are my favorite colors and on a cold winter as it as been this year with many overcast, and rainy days a project as this can be one that just makes you feel so good to work on.  I love Eleanor Parr and am really excited to get to start working on some birds soon.  I am using 40 ct. Vintage Sand Dune for my fabric with some Gloriana as well as some other threads that I have had here.  I will post my progress here and in the Scarlet Letter Years FB pages too.  I am making this year the year of more stitching time.  I hope to post again here soon!
